2026 Camp Season – What We Learned on the Road
July 22, 2026
We love powering camps for our customers, and with Ryzer supporting nearly 30,000 camp sessions each year, we get ample opportunity to amplify our passion and build on our experience.
This summer, members of the Scorability and Ryzer teams traveled across the country to support camps in person. We worked side-by-side with camp operators during check-in, watched athletes compete, talked with parents, and observed hundreds of recruiting interactions unfold in real time.
While every camp is unique, a few themes emerged again and again.
Everyone Wins When Check-In Runs Smoothly
The first impression of a camp happens long before the first drill.
We spent time sitting alongside camp staff during check-in and saw firsthand how important efficiency is to the overall experience. Long lines create stress for athletes, parents, coaches, and camp operators alike.
One of the biggest validations of the summer was seeing our new registration and check-in technology in action. Camps that previously experienced check-in lines lasting more than an hour were able to process athletes in a fraction of the time.
The impact extends beyond convenience. Faster check-in means less frustration, more time on the field, and a better experience for everyone involved.

Walk-Up Athletes Deserve a Great Experience Too
One thing became immediately clear as we traveled from camp to camp: walk-up registrations remain a significant part of nearly every event.
Historically, these athletes often created operational challenges. Separate processes, additional paperwork, and manual workflows slowed down camp staff and created bottlenecks for attendees.
This summer, we saw the value of simplifying that experience. With new Ryzer walk-up registration capabilities, athletes who arrive on the day of camp can move through the same streamlined process as everyone else.
The result is a smoother experience for camp operators and a better first impression for athletes and families.
Parents Want Visibility and Lasting Value
Families invest significant time, energy, and money to attend camps.
What we heard repeatedly from parents was that they wanted more than just a day on a field. They wanted visibility into their athlete’s performance and a better understanding of how that performance compared to others.
They also wanted something lasting.
The Scorability App helped bridge that gap by providing access to combine results, drill videos, one-on-one footage, leaderboards, and other performance data collected throughout the event.
Instead of leaving camp with only memories, families leave with assets they can revisit, share, and use throughout the recruiting process with their Scorability Athlete account.
For many parents, that transparency transforms the value of the camp experience.

We captured over 69,000 videos at camps in 2026.
Coaches Want a Record They Can Return To
Recruiting happens fast at camps. Coaches are evaluating hundreds of athletes in a short period of time while simultaneously running drills, managing schedules, and interacting with families.
What we learned is that both visiting coaches and host staff want a way to capture what they see before those observations disappear.
With the Scorability App, coaches can identify top performers in real time, take recruiting notes, favorite athletes, and review measurable results as the camp unfolds. More importantly, those evaluations don’t disappear when the camp ends. Videos, photos, notes, and performance data remain available long after athletes head home, allowing coaches to revisit prospects and make more informed recruiting decisions.
Camps Build Community in a Way Few Experiences Can
Perhaps the most important lesson from the summer had nothing to do with technology.
Camps create community. They bring athletes and coaches together in ways that official visits, high school games, and club events often cannot.
Athletes experience a program from the inside. They interact directly with coaches. They train on campus, learn how a staff operates, and get a glimpse of what life might look like as a member of that program. For a day, they become part of something bigger than themselves.
That connection is powerful, and it’s one of the reasons camps continue to play such an important role in the recruiting journey.

Why We Love Being There
For our team, one of the most rewarding parts of the summer was simply being present.
We spend much of the year building software, supporting customers, and helping programs create better experiences. Getting out from behind our desks and onto the field allows us to see the impact of that work firsthand.
We learn more in a few days on-site than we can learn in months of meetings. We see what works. We see what can be improved. Most importantly, we get to spend time with the coaches, parents, and athletes who inspire us to keep building.
The passion of the camp community is contagious.
We’re grateful to every program that welcomed us onto their campus this summer, and we’re already looking forward to the next camp season.
