Highlights from the 2025 AFCA Conference
More than 7,000 coaches attended the 2025 AFCA Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Champion Sponsor, Scorability stood alongside industry leaders like the NFL and Riddell as the biggest supporters of college coaches everywhere, and we showed firsthand how Scorability is transforming athlete recruiting.
We wanted to take a look back at some highlights from the event, sharing key insights, informative conversations, and the connections that made for a special few days.
Highlights from the Scorability Booth
Our team gave hundreds of demos to coaches from every division of football, and the reaction was clear: Scorability isn’t just another recruiting tool—it’s the solution coaches need! Coaches loved seeing:
- Complete athlete data from one login. Finally, coaches can eliminate login fatigue by getting one solution in Scorability, with everything needed to find and evaluate prospective athletes.
- Helpful map views. Coaches now recruit their regions with speed and accuracy by seeing their recruits and watchlists on a customizable map.
- High school coach evaluations at scale. High school coaches needed a simple tool to share honest, firsthand evaluations to help college coaches learn about the athletes. It’s here.
- A free service for athletes and their families. No student should have to pay to get recruited.
- A show-stopper booth. The Scorability booth held down center court on the conference floor, playing host to some incredible conversations and connections made with coaches from across the country.
Highlights from Our Panel
Beyond our demos, we hosted a standout discussion: “The Unmeasurables: Recruit the Athlete, Not the Numbers.” A powerhouse panel of football coaches and sports science and data analytics experts tackled one of the biggest challenges in recruiting: how to evaluate the intangibles.

The coaches in attendance walked away with real, actionable strategies for identifying an athlete’s leadership, resilience, and grit—qualities that separate good athletes from the “right” ones. Knowing who you’re recruiting is more important than just knowing their numbers.
Coach Shannon Dawson put it best: “Look at your current team. Who steps up when things get tough? Who leads with grit? Now look at your recruits—who has those same traits? That’s how you build and retain winning teams.”
